Broken Bells

Broken Bells is a collaboration between producer Danger Mouse and The Shins’ singer James Mercer. Sounds promising! I kind of like the planets on the teaser website.

Hunted down illustrated some cool music stuff.

Big Active updated their site a little since I last visited it. Still love their amazing work.

The british band Fanfarlo lets you download their debut album Reservoir on their website for one dollar. I would say their style lies somewhere between Arcade Fire and Sigur Rós.

This Invisible Creature from Seattle made some really good record covers.

The band Omega Code will release a book with poster designs together with their album. I just finished my submission for the connected contest. 20 posters will be picked to be featured in the book. Check out my design in full size on my flickr or see all the submissions in the Omega Code Flickr set.

Straight from the Lost Gates… Kid Robot and Stones Throw teamed up to make a Lord Quas vinyl figure. “available in equal quantities of yellow and blue, each with a brick and spliff “cigarette.”

Big Active recently updated their site with some great projects. I just love their variations in style.

The Taschen book Jazz Covers seems to be a really interesting inspiration source. On 496 pages it displays a collection of classical vinyl covers from the 1940s to the 1990s.

I made a logo, CD cover and merchandising stuff for the german band Lauter Leben. Take a look at the design on my portfolio site or see my Flickr page.

Those who like hip hop can download the full length World Wide Renewal Program from Adult Swim records… uhm, and those who don’t like hip hop can try, too.

You can watch the live concert “Náttúra” from Iceland with Sigur Rós and Björk tomorrow at 7 pm GMT on the National Geographic Music website. If you miss it, the webcast will be viewable on that site next week, too.

Just found this interesting site called Sleevage where album cover designs are discussed. Kind of like Coldplay’s new covers, by the way…

Today I discovered The Heliocentrics. Check out their psychedelic jazzy sounds. Nice cover artwork, too…

In my sparetime I produce some music for fun… I just uploaded my contribution for the Radiohead remix competition remixing their latest single “Nude”. You can listen to the song on my MySpace music site.

I love the style of my favourite hip hop label Stones Throw Records. Their artwork for album covers, photostyles and mechandising is unique!

Those who missed Air’s Pocket Symphony site should definitely take a look at it. Nice webdesign style and for me Pocket Symphony is one of last year’s best albums.

I love the atmosphere of this website for Goldfrapp.

Yet, some more Daft Punk links… Beatrice Naumann took nice shots of the robot combo and their Daftalive website is kind of worth a visit. It doesn’t have too much content, but I like the style of that page.

If this is the future of the music video, I like it! MTV can carry on showing ringtone commercials… Check out Arcade Fire’s Black Mirror! By the way they’re one of the best live bands I saw so far.
